To date, B-17F remains Missing In Action (MIA). When lost, the U. S. Army searched for the bomber without results the next day. Although the Department of Defense (DoD) searches for MIA Americans, they have never located this bomber.
Despite this, new insights and specific evidence has been found that points to a specific area of interest where this B-17 might have crashed.
